MEDITATION AND BREATHWORK
4 WEEK COURSES
Meditation is widely recognised as helping build physical and mental resilience - something that is becoming more and more important to us in these ever changing times. Regular meditation can give us new ways to deal with the challenge’s life likes to throw at us. Breathwork is now being adopted by non-yogis as a powerful tool for resetting the body and mind. Pranayama (different breathing techniques) is a major part of the yoga tradition but one that tends not to be taught in-depth in weekly yoga classes.
Meditation and breathwork exercises can be used as a practical tool to help improve focus and concentration. They can assist in managing everyday stresses and strains such as worry and anxiety, relationships and work/life balance. Ultimately, meditation can help us explore the true nature of consciousness and find out who we really are. Learning conscious and systematic breathing techniques can help us mentally, physically and spiritually. However we choose to practice, meditation and breathwork can help create more space in life and enhance wellbeing.
It's not all sitting around on a cushion chanting 'om'! Penny will tailor a course to your requirements and offers a range of practices as tools for you to use in daily life.
Is This For Me?
Penny teaches bespoke four week courses to beginners and experienced practitioners consisting of four hours of one to one tuition with 'homework' each week. She likes to work one to one focusing on constructing and refining skills and techniques based on individual needs. You will need to be able to commit a minimum of fifteen minutes every day throughout the course to practice the techniques you learn in class. For beginners a course is a great introduction to mindfulness and/or breathwork and will get you well on the road to practicing independently. For experienced practitioners, a four week course can assist in refreshing your commitment or progressing your practice or perhaps help you explore other meditative approaches. Penny is committed to developing as a trauma-sensitive practitioner and as such adopts a person centred approach in her work. She aims to create a safe space for you to develop your personal practice and support you through your journey. If you would like to have a chat about any aspects of learning mindfulness or breathwork before booking please get in touch. This course is open to anyone over the age of 18.
How much does it cost?
4 x 1 hour online sessions for 1-2 people costs £120
4 x 1 hour online sessions for 1-2 people (low income) costs £80

Please be aware that mindfulness practice is not usually recommended for anyone with paranoia or schizophrenia or who is actively experiencing traumatic symptoms, who feels mentally unstable or suicidal. If you are experiencing any of these states please contact your GP or visit the website of the Scottish Association for Mental Health https://www.samh.org.uk for further advice and information.
